Outreach & Engagement

The Reif is committed to expanding access to high-quality arts experiences for students, older adults, and community members throughout the region.

Through daytime performances, artist-led learning opportunities, and meaningful community partnerships, The Reif brings the power of live performance beyond the stage and into the lives of people of all ages.

A large audience fills the auditorium at the Reif Center while performers present a live dinosaur-themed stage show under colorful theatrical lighting. A dinosaur puppet stands center stage beside performers, with themed banners and set pieces in the background.

Student Matinees

Reif Student Matinees bring high-quality daytime theater experiences to students from schools across the region, including many who travel from rural communities with limited access to professional performing arts opportunities.

These educational performances introduce young audiences to live theater in an engaging and accessible environment while supporting classroom learning through arts exposure and cultural enrichment.

Whenever possible, The Reif also partners with visiting artists to provide workshops, lecture demonstrations, and educational residencies that deepen student engagement and create meaningful connections beyond the stage.

Senior Series

The Reif Senior Series offers weekday matinee performances designed specifically for adults ages 65 and older. These accessible arts experiences welcome both residents of assisted living facilities and independent older adults throughout the region.

By scheduling performances during daytime hours, the series helps remove barriers associated with evening travel, winter driving conditions, and nighttime attendance.

These events provide opportunities for social connection, entertainment, and cultural engagement while ensuring older adults in rural communities can continue to enjoy high-quality live arts in a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Touring Artist Outreach

Touring artists appearing on The Reif stage often extend their impact beyond the theater by engaging directly with local schools, organizations, and community members.

These outreach opportunities may include workshops, masterclasses, classroom visits, discussions, and community events designed to encourage creativity, cultural exchange, and hands-on engagement with the arts.

By bringing professional artists into schools and community spaces, The Reif helps expand access to arts education, create memorable experiences, and strengthen community connections across generations.

Reif Repertory Theater

Reif Repertory Theater engages casts of seasoned performers to bring quality productions to the stage in a shorter, more intensive rehearsal process than traditional community theater.

While Reif Theater Arts focuses on education and creating opportunities for everyone, Reif Repertory productions create a unique opportunity for proven local and guest artists to experience a more professional approach to theater. These productions also create opportunities for striving artists and the community at large to see great theater on our own Reif stage!
